Newell Normand:
Folks, you’ve heard me talk about Enterprise Staffing and how they’re helping business owners deal with their human capital challenges. We have Scott from Enterprise Staffing joining us today. Scott, what’s the number one thing that gets workers sent home early as part of this operation?
Scott:
Hey, happy Mardi Gras, Newell, happy Mardi Gras, everyone. I would say the number one thing that is going to get you sent home early is playing on your phone. If you walk into a new job site and the first thing you’re doing is scrolling instead of talking, getting to know your co-workers, getting to know the people you’re working for, you’re the first guy on my radar that’s going to get sent home early.
Newell Normand:
I got to imagine you might be the first guy or just about everybody’s radar because obviously your list of priorities is not in tune with the culture of the company, right?
Scott:
I mean its a great device. It’s an entry, you know, you can talk to anybody in the world, but really, as far as your career goes, it could be an albatross around your neck. You really need to lay off the people you need to be talking to who are not on your screen and the people around you. You need to get to know the one people you’re working with.
Newell Normand:
Yeah, because as with a staffing company, they’re actually looking to hire them away from you. In fact, you all call that a success story. And they want to make sure that they are the priority if they’re paying you at that point in time. It just, you know, makes sense on so many different fronts. Great advice, great observation, a very obvious one, but sometimes we overlook the we stare the obvious into face, and we walk right around it.
Scott:
Absolutely.
Newell Normand:
Thank you so much, Scott. We truly appreciate it. Enterprise Staffing, your Gulf Coast staffing agency, when you need skilled labor, call Enterprise Staffing at (504) 900-1119 or on the web at enterprisestaffing.com.
